Risa has been a quarry project partner of Rekefjord Stone since 2013. Risa is responsible for ensuring that stone extraction at the quarries is planned and executed in a safe and secure manner and in accordance with the applicable framework conditions for Rekefjord Stone operations.
Moreover, Risa is responsible for the entire stone extraction process in the form of drilling, blasting, transporting stone masses to the crusher for the production of the finished product, as well as loading the finished product onto boats.
Risa works in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001 with regard to the management and monitoring of the workplace environment and risks.
Risa is one of the largest construction contractors in the country, with projects in the transport sector, energy development, operation and maintenance, as well as demolition and environmental remediation activities. The company also offers construction site services, as well as construction notification, rock fall protection and blasting, timberwork, noise barrier, transport and other construction-related services. Headquartered in Nærbø, Risa is a knowledge company with a sound track record and a staff of around 500 skilled professionals, who work with some of the country’s most modern machinery and equipment. The company also has a strong focus on apprentice training. Every year, 15 to 20 apprentices receive training at Risa in such disciplines as road and construction work, construction machine operation, rock and quarry work, professional driving, office and administration work and ICT. Risa works in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001 with regard to the management and monitoring of the workplace environment and risks.
In planning new reclamation and filling activities in Rekefjord Stone, Risa actively contributes professional expertise and ‘green’ technology.
